“THE FARM” as the property is called is situated on a rural setting in a small county town on the South Coast.
The house was designed and built by the Moffat builders’ team and boasts many details that have not been seen previously, as they were designed and driven by Moffat builders.
The home is divided up into 4 hubs and linked with glass breezeways, light cladding has been used on two of the hubs to refine the modern farmhouse look, and the two other hubs have the European style cladding and roofing installed, called standing seam.
Glass was a huge part of this home as it takes in the rural outlook of the farm.
The home includes polished concrete floors throughout, lining board to the vaulted and raked ceilings, sandstone walls, Tasmanian oak linings in the centre hub that has hidden doors that seamlessly flow and disappear in with the wall linings.
The fireplace is sandstone with a cantilevered polished concrete hearth.
The external verandah are also polished concrete that provide the home with thermal mass which heats up the slab through the day from the suns rays and distributes the heat out in the evening into the house.
The details and the craftsman ship showcased in this house is a credit to the entire Moffat builders’ team.
Tannoch Farm is a 100 acre property located on the South Coast, this property takes farm life to an elevated level with expansive views and a set up that has to be seen to be believed.

A large central fireplace with sandstone mantles and hearth, amazing joinery throughout, a spiral timber staircase that is installed in a circular room with a curved door that we made and that leads out to the basement which has been transformed into a music room.
The build incorporated a natural spring swimming pool that sit along side the home, the pool comprises of two areas, the swimming zone and the regeneration zone which is a pond that is designed and constructed in a way that the plants in the pond, filter and clean the pools water and recycle it back to the pool again, no chemicals are required, you could not swim in a more natural environment.
The craftsman ship that the Moffat builders team detailed through this home was second to none.
Stratford is a 100 year old farmhouse on the South Coast that had been neglected for many years, it was not falling apart at the seams, but needed some serious attention
We had a clear vision of how the clients wanted the old house to look like, so we set out to bring the house back to its former glory, in every detail, the addition of a few areas were added on to the home that seamlessly flowed.
We remade the timber windows in our joinery shop and installed and glazed hundreds of panes of glass using the authentic method of putty, timber window hoods were made and installed over the new windows to provide sun protection and to visually enhance the windows.
The restoration of the house was completed to replicate the original details and finishes, the original floorboards were repaired and brought back to life, details that had not fared well over time were replicated and reinstalled.
Herring bone floorboards were installed in the new areas, timber barn doors made in our workshop provided plenty of detail in the kitchen, bathrooms and kitchens were upgraded.
The old charm of the house was not removed as there were many details that the existing house boasted that were left untouched, just cleaned up and painted, to remind us of the years gone by and the heritage of the home and its previous owners.
Moffat builders were engaged to undertake the shop fit out at the delightful little café, “Peckish on the Park” in Nowra.
The fit out included all internal linings, fittings, disabled bathrooms, and kitchen fit off.

This amazing little cube was an addition to an existing beach house that nestled in the hill side of a south coast beach break.
Small in size but packs a punch with the character and details.
Built off the ground on steel posts, this extension boasts three bedrooms and two bathrooms and was the missing link that the existing two bedroom house needed.
From the inside the addition is seamless and flows without interruption, however from the outside you can see that the architects had a play on the design with the cube attachment that cantilevers over the sand dune.
Moffat builders were engaged to complete the shop fit out at the local surf shop, Aquatique.
The fit out included detailed curved bulkheads and joinery along with timber feature wall panelling.
The time frame was key to get the work carried out swiftly to allow the store to open on time.
We were engaged to bring an old run down river side home back to life.
The house had good bones but had been neglected for many years and required a great deal of restoration work to be carried out.
We took it back down to a bare shell, straightened the timber floor that had partially collapsed from the undermining of the local wombats, and transformed the old girl into an amazing space.
We saw its potential even further that the architects had designed and requested that the roof and ceiling line be enhanced by raising the flat ceiling line to incorporate exposed whitewashed timber beams with a vaulted ceiling, this design change was an amazing transformation that was a game changer for the large open space.
We kept the original old charm of the home with matching the existing cladding and installing new timber windows, while enhancing its appeal with modern finishes and eye catching details.
Moffat Builders were engaged to design and construct a home on top of the hill overlooking the Shoalhaven River.
The home had a contemporary feel about it with large windows and doors opening on to the wide verandah that took in the river views.
Flat roof design with exposed rafter tails was an inherent detail throughout the home.

The alterations and additions on this farmhouse was an amazing transformation from the original home.
The spotted gum timber elements used throughout the additions complemented the original 1900’s home and blended seamlessly from space to space.
The original part of the home has been transformed back to its former glory and enhanced with new windows and wide veranda’s.
The large, curved stone wall that we built provides the home with thermal mass that soaks up the sun’s rays throughout the day and releases the warmth back into the home in the evening creating a space that is pleasing to be in.
Huge, recycled bridge timbers over 200 years old were sourced, cleaned and prepared and installed on the North facing verandas to add character and charm to this modern farmhouse.
