Stratford is a 100 year old farmhouse on the South Coast that had been neglected for many years, it was not falling apart at the seams, but needed some serious attention
We had a clear vision of how the clients wanted the old house to look like, so we set out to bring the house back to its former glory, in every detail, the addition of a few areas were added on to the home that seamlessly flowed.
We remade the timber windows in our joinery shop and installed and glazed hundreds of panes of glass using the authentic method of putty, timber window hoods were made and installed over the new windows to provide sun protection and to visually enhance the windows.
The restoration of the house was completed to replicate the original details and finishes, the original floorboards were repaired and brought back to life, details that had not fared well over time were replicated and reinstalled.
Herring bone floorboards were installed in the new areas, timber barn doors made in our workshop provided plenty of detail in the kitchen, bathrooms and kitchens were upgraded.
The old charm of the house was not removed as there were many details that the existing house boasted that were left untouched, just cleaned up and painted, to remind us of the years gone by and the heritage of the home and its previous owners.
